We understand that privacy is important to you, and we promise to look after your personal information. Any personal information you provide to us will only be used and recorded in accordance with the Data Protection Act and GDPR guidelines. We will not sell any information about you to any other party.

By providing David Cullen Jewellers with your information, you consent to the collection and processing of such information in accordance with the terms of this Policy.

What information do we collect from you? We will only have information about you if you willingly provide it. The information you provide is referred to as personal information. Please make sure you update your personal information if any of your details change.

In order to do any of the following, you will need to provide us with certain details:

  • place an order
  • sign up for e-newsletters
  • enter competitions
  • take part in a survey
  • give feedback to us

The details you provide may include your name, email address, delivery address, telephone number, credit or debit card number and the card’s expiry date.

We may collect your IP (Internet Protocol) address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer the website. An IP address is a number that is assigned to your computer when you use the Internet. Your IP address is also used to help identify you during a particular session and to gather statistical data.

Will we share your personal information with anyone else?

NO, we will not share your personal information with other companies, businesses or email providers. We will never release your personal details to any outside company for mailing or marketing purposes.

Validation checks

All credit and charge card holders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. If the issuer of your payment card refuses to authorise payment to us, we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery. In addition, in the interests of preventing fraudulent use of credit, debit and charge cards, David Cullen Jewellers will validate the names, addresses and other information supplied during the order process against commercially available records (e.g Electoral Roll data, Credit Reference Services). A third party may also be instructed to complete these checks. By ordering from the www.davidcullenjewellers.com website you consent to such checks being made. We may need to contact you by letter, telephone or email to verify details before we are able to process and dispatch your order or we may be unable to accept your order due to lack of stock or other variables beyond our control. Any information given may be disclosed to a registered Credit Reference Agency which may keep a record of the information. All information provided will be treated in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. These measures are taken as extra protection for you, to ensure your online shopping experience with us is as safe and secure as possible and to assist in the prevention of crime.

For payment options we use SAGEPAY, you will be redirected for the payment section of the checkout process and then diverted back to us for the final stage.  SAGEPAY process all orders once we are satisfied they adhere to the privacy policy that is set out here. We have a non-disclosure agreement with this third party, and they will are certified by all the major card issuers to hold details securely.

How long will we keep your information?

We will only keep your personal information for as long as necessary and consistent with the purpose for which you have given it to us. Except where needed to respond to a query from you or fulfil an order, we will delete your personal information on request by you.

How will we use it?

We will use this information to fulfill any order and to communicate with you when necessary. If you provide us with your debit or credit card details, we will record them so that you can save time and use them when you next order with us.

We may also use these details for validation checks, as outlined below.

Refund policy

This policy and details contained below only apply to items purchased online and does not apply to items purchased in our stores whose return are subject to a credit note or exchange only and not a refund.  This does not affect your statutory rights.

Faulty items

The procedures set out here to cancel an order or return an item do not affect your right to reject faulty goods. Further information can be found at www.consumerconnect.ie. If you do receive a faulty item, please follow one of the procedures outlined in our Returning an item section.

Please note that certain items cannot be returned unless David Cullen Jewellers is at fault. These are personalised or engraved items.

Returning an item

If you wish to return goods, you have a duty to keep them in your possession and to take reasonable care of them until you return them. Goods must be returned in their original condition, including immediate packaging, within the cooling off period.

We accept refunds or exchanges of pierced items in original packaging.  If it is deemed that the items have been worn or tampered with this may affect your return.

Our refund policy does not affect your statutory rights.

The refund policy below is only offered to full price goods, if an item or items were on sale or at a special price we will offer store credit only.

You are very welcome to drop any item or items for return to any of our branches, the goods will be accepted but the refund will be issued direct to the card or method of payment.

Return by post

You can return unwanted items to us by post. You will be refunded on the credit/debit card you used to place the order within 28 days.  PLEASE NOTE ALL RETURNS BY POST MUST BE DONE BY REGISTERED POST, WE CANNOT GUARANTEE AN ITEM WILL BE RECEIVED BY US UNLESS IT IS REGISTERED.

  1. Contact our Customer Services team on +353 1 8482380 or +353 1 4932933 2. Place the item into its original presentation box and make sure that the parcel is sealed securely. You should also place a copy of the original email you received from us with your details and the product details(PLEASE NOTE WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PROCESS THE REFUND IF YOU HAVE NOT INCLUDED A COPY OF THE ORIGINAL EMAIL WE SENT YOU)  3. If the item is in its original condition, we will refund the payment card used to place the order. 4. If you wish to exchange your item, you will need to return it to a David Cullen Jewellers store as we are unable to process an exchange by post.

*Calls are charged at local rate and may be recorded. Our lines are open 10am-6pm Monday to Friday.

Returning a gift

Refunds for gifts can only be made to the payment card used to purchase the goods. If you buy a gift online, the recipient will not be able to get a cash refund if they want to return the item. If a recipient does want to return a gift, we will exchange it for a gift voucher credited to the value of the gift at any David Cullen Jewellers store within the cooling off period.

Cooling off period

When you order from us online, you are entitled to a cooling off period when you can return your goods without any penalty. Our cooling off period is 14 days, which includes any statutory cooling off period.   This only applies to items purchased online and does not apply to items purchased in the store whose return are subject to a credit note or exchange only and not a refund.  This does not affect your statutory rights.

This period starts the day the contract is agreed (i.e. you receive an email from us saying we have despatched your order) and ends 14 days thereafter.

Certain items are excluded from the cooling off period guarantee, unless David Cullen Jewellers is at fault. These are personalised or engraved items.

Cancelling an order before despatch by you or David Cullen Jewellers Limited

If you change your mind after placing an order, you can cancel it at any time before we despatch it by telephoning us. You will need to give as your name and address details, as well as your order number.

If you cancel part of an order, the postage and packaging charge is recalculated on the number of the items you keep.

David Cullen Jewellers Limited reserves the right to cancel any order before it has been shipped to you.  Should we decide to cancel a sale we will refund your card for the full amount of your purchase including any postage you may have paid.

Returning part of an order

If you purchase more than one item in a single transaction you may return certain items and keep others.  This may however leave you owing the postage fee if the items you return leave the items kept under the free postage threshold, for example you order 2 items worth €30 each so the order comes to €60, as the order is over €50 you are entitled to free postage.  If you return one of these items and we refund you the €30 for it teh order as it stands is now for €30 only and therefore is liable to the postage charge of €5.  In this case we would refund you €25 (€30 due less the €5 postage charge).

If you return an item that received free shipping you will be charged for the shipping costs incurred by David Cullen Jewellers Limited on the original purchase. The postage amount incurred will be on the outside of the original packaging. For example if you purchase an item for €60 free delivery applies, you then return this item for a refund, the original postage incurred by David Cullen Jewellers Limited was €5.75, this amount will be deduced and a refund of €59.25 will be made to your credit or debit card. By making a purchase on this website you are agreeing to the above terms and conditions.

DIAMONDS

Conflict free diamonds only

David Cullen Jewellers Limited always strive to provide our customers with excellent quality, conflict free diamonds only. We adhere to the Kimberly Process, which is an initiative between industry, society and governments which is committed to reducing the flow of conflict diamonds* from the supply chain worldwide.

 

We insist that all our suppliers adhere to the Kimberly Process and that this is documented in their supply policies.  The Kimberly Process (KP) has created a traceable and tamper-proof system for the distribution of diamonds which can be certified as conflict-free. Any shipment which is void of legitimate KP adherent certification will be rejected from the receiving body, or impounded.

Note: *Conflict Diamonds are defined as diamonds which are used to finance war against legitimate governments around the world. 

WEEE POLICY

Waste electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) is taken back free of charge on a one-for-one, like-for-like basis.  Waste batteries including rechargeable batteries are taken back free of charge.  You are not obliged to make any purchase when returning old batteries.  Each local authority must also accept household WEEE and small batteries free of charge at its recycling facilities. All WEEE and waste batteries must be recycled and should not be placed in any of your household wheelie bins.  Make sure you always recycle all your old electrical goods and batteries.

We accept WEEE in all our locations.

  1. DELIVERY TIMES

David Cullen Jewellers Limited expect to ship your order within 14 days from the date of receipt however the normal shipping time will be within 4-5 days in most cases unless an item is out of stock. If your order is going to take more than 14 days, we will contact you immediately with an estimated delivery date, and you will have the right to change your order or cancel.

Free delivery is only for items purchased that exceed €50 in value, David Cullen Jewellers are not responsible for any items lost in post.
